Boston Cares staff members are knowledgable speakers on trends in individual volunteering, corporate social responsibility, youth volunteering, and the non-profit sector in Greater Boston. Founded by young volunteers in 1991, Boston Cares is now the region's largest volunteer mobilizer and an Innovation Hub within the national HandsOn Network. Through the Boston Cares Calendar, individuals may volunteer at more than 200 projects every month. The organization works with more than 165 Greater Boston schools and non-profit agencies and organizes days of service for dozens of corporate clients each year.
Boston Cares runs the largest Martin Luther King service day in Boston as well as organizing large public service events for Global Youth Service Day, Make a Difference Day, National Volunteer Week, and Family Volunteer Day.
