MAB's programs are designed to help people with disabilities live fully and meaningfully in the community. MAB is a private, nonprofit organization. Founded in 1903, the Mass. Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired is the oldest social service organization in the United States to continuously provide programs for adults with vision loss. Helen Keller served on our first advisory board. We are a program of MAB Community Services, which has broadened its scope of services to include additional programs, one for adolescents with acquired brain injuries, and one for adults with developmental disabilities. Today, MAB helps more than 5,000 individuals gain the skills and spirit of independent living through programs that focus on rehabilitation, education, capacity building and access.
