Elihu Greenwood Leadership Academy (BPS)

The Elihu Greenwood Leadership Academy (EGLA) is a K-5 elementary school in Hyde Park and is one of the 14 "turnaround" schools in the City of Boston. The Greenwood School serves students who traditionally score low on standardized tests across the state and the nation: About 95 percent are black or Hispanic, and 72 percent of all students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches. Under the direction of a new principal, the EGLA is making great strides in promoting a positive learning environment for students and community involvement model for families.
