Love Your Block - Four Corners Main Street

Four Corners Main Streets strives to support and promote a vibrant, healthy, and active commercial district in the Four Corners neighborhood through the following four-pronged approach: improving the district’s economic vitality by supporting existing businesses and attracting new ones; marketing the district to attract new and repeat visitors that support local businesses; enhancing the physical appearance of the district with an emphasis on safety for pedestrians and cyclists, and; increasing community connections to the district through events and involved businesses and residents. Four Corners Main Streets is about People, Place, and Opportunity. Our mission is guided by our principles of equity and inclusion, and carried out by our Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers.

Now more than ever, we need champions, heroes, friends, and allies to support our beautification work. Love Your Block is our first major outdoor event of the year and the we are once again working to become the greenest Main Street district in the City. We seek volunteers willing to be part of this effort. Volunteers will assist in a number of tasks that include: Registration; Refreshments; Trash Collection, Sidewalk Sweeping; Mulch Distribution, Planting micro gardens at newly planted street trees in the district.

Volunteers will need to use shovels for digging holes where new plantings will go. Volunteers will also fill wheelbarrows with mulch to distribute to all our Main Street district street trees, our new rose garden, and Mother's Rest Park, as well as other green areas stewarded by our organization.

Volunteers who are creative, spirited and collaborative with a willingness to learn and connect with community are encouraged to sign up! Bilingual abilities are a plus but are not necessary.

MBTA Accessibility: Bus Route 23 from Ashmont (Red) or Ruggles (Orange) Subway Stations to Four Corners station stop., Fairmount (Commuter Rail Line) from South Station or Readville to Four Corners / Geneva Station.
