Distribute Texts for BPS - Transportation Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to deliver early childhood texts to 57 Boston Public School sites. Volunteers for this project will be asked to deliver newly sorted texts for the BPS Department of Early Childhood. *Please note that all volunteers must have a car.* Volunteers will meet at the packing site and be assigned to a group of schools that they will be responsible to deliver texts too. All deliveries will be made to the front offices of BPS partner schools.

Volunteers attending this opportunity are required to bring and wear their own mask at all times and to follow all safety requirements. Hand sanitizer will be available for use at the main packing site when picking up texts. Volunteers will work in groups no larger than 10, and most of the project will be individual volunteers using their own car to transport texts to school sites. Volunteers will be responsible for delivering texts to the main offices at their assigned schools. 

The health and safety of our volunteers, Volunteer Leaders, and the people that we serve is our top priority. We are working with our Community Partners to ensure that state & city guidance is followed to slow the spread of COVID-19. Read about our Safety Requirements. We ask volunteers to be aware of their own health before signing up to help. If you do not feel well or have a fever, if you have knowingly been exposed to COVID-19, or if you have been ill/had a fever within the last 14 days, please do NOT sign up to volunteer. 

This individual opportunity is open to any individual with a Boston Cares account, who have attended an orientation, and who follows our safety requirements. We ask all volunteers to sign up using the form below so that we can accurately track volunteer numbers and ensure enough people are scheduled to help. If you sign up and then find you are unable to volunteer, please log into your Boston Cares account and remove yourself from the project via the "my account" page so that another volunteer can take your place. Volunteers under the age of 18 must bring a completed Parent/Guardian Permission Form to the project with them.
