Merrimack Valley Gas Explosions: Staff the Recovery Resource Center

Following the gas explosions and fires in the Merrimack Valley on September 13, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) is coordinating a Recovery Resource Center (RRC) in Lawrence to provide information, resources and support to those affected.  

Volunteers will be assisting with various staffing needs at the center, including crowd control, directing the flow of people through the center, and registering residents.  Volunteers with Spanish language skills are also needed to assist with translation services!

Due to the immediate nature of this project, the opportunity will managed on-site by MEMA.  Volunteers who sign up will be provided with additional contact information for MEMA staff via email, and will not be greeted by a Boston Cares Volunteer Leader.  

The RRC is located at the Elks Lodge at  652 Andover Street in Lawrence, MA, and is open to the public from 12-7pm.
